Gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors

Elm House Farm is the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, with spectacular views just a few minutes walk away.

The North York Moors National Park is the largest expanse of heather upland in England. High ridged prehistoric pathways, soft sandstone tracks and ancient turf & roads all provide an intricate web of routes across the uninterupted sea of heather moorlands.

Pickering Castle

Located on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, Pickering Castle was originally built by William the Conqueror and is an excellent example of a motte and bailey castle. Pickering Castle was used by a succession of medieval kings as a hunting lodge and holiday home.

Stunning views of the picturesque countryside await those taking the steps to the mounds top, whilst an exhibition in the chapel explores the castle's history further.
